Every “Remember” slide from every guide, collected in one place. Flip through it before a training night, or show it at the end of a season.
Drones aren't dangerous. Careless pilots are.
Almost every accident is the pilot, not the drone, so the safety is in your hands: props off on the bench, batteries watched, and everyone around you knowing what you're doing.
1
Props off on the bench. Battery out before you touch the drone.
2
Never charge alone. Puffy, dented or hot? Stop.
3
Battery fire: get away, shout, never touch it.
4
Burn: cool it under running water for 20 minutes, tell your trainer.
5
Under 16? The coach is the pilot.
6
Big burn or big fire: call 112.
Free to use in your own trainings. Just tell people where you got it.

Tilt to move.
Throttle to stay up.
Throttle to stay up.
A drone has no accelerator and no brakes. Practise one stick at a time, then two moves together, then three.
1
Throttle is the only move that doesn’t tilt the drone.
2
Pitch and roll tilt it. Yaw only turns the nose.
3
No brakes: to stop, tilt back, and wait.
4
Angle mode levels itself when you let go. Acro doesn’t.
5
Higher camera angle = more forward stick, more throttle.

Don't fall into your own wind.
Propwash is the dirty, turbulent air your own propellers leave behind. When the drone falls back into it, the props lose grip and the quad shakes.
1
Propwash is your own dirty air.
2
Don't drop straight down into it. Come down at an angle.
3
Keep a little throttle on in dives and turns.
4
Straight props and a solid build make it smaller.

A drone is a vehicle with nobody on board.
Five questions tell any two drones apart:
1
Where? Air, ground, water, under water or space.
2
How? Rotors, wings, wheels, tracks or legs.
3
Who’s cooking? Frying pan, toaster or smart oven.
4
How do you see it? Line of sight, FPV or out of sight.
5
How heavy? And: camera? Home-built? That sets the rules.

A real sport, and the road to the national team starts at your first training.
1
More than racing: freestyle, drone soccer, combat, sim racing.
2
More than thumbs: reactions, body, nerves, and you’re the mechanic.
3
Organised: club → ELF → EOK and FAI. DRTE is in Team Estonia.
4
A clear path: sim, fly, train → club races → leagues → international → DRTE.

Your own pace. Everyone moves at their own speed.

A prop is a spinning wing.
The leading edge leads.
The leading edge leads.
Check it every time you change a prop.
1
Find the leading edge: the higher, rounder edge of the blade.
2
It goes first, in the direction of spin.
3
Right letter on the right motor: A and B.
4
More pitch or more blades = more grip, more battery.
5
Loose prop on a friction-fit shaft? Replace it.

Know your channel before you plug in.
When two drones share a video channel, the pilot already in the air goes blind, so "know your channel" is the one rule that protects other people's drones, not just your own.
1
Book your channel on the screen. Taken? Wait your turn.
2
Say it out loud: “Plugging in on R3!”
3
25 mW: always, in practice and in races.
4
Before you take off, ask: “Video still clean?”

Read the picture. It tells you where to look.
1
Snow: check the antennas first, on both ends. Same twist.
2
Lines with throttle: electrical noise. A capacitor and tidy wiring.
3
Someone in your picture: channels. Who just plugged in?
4
Grey, rolling, blurry: settings, lens, focus. Not the signal.
5
One change at a time. Swap to find which half is broken.
6
Never fix it with more power. 25 mW, always.

Fly so that everyone else can fly too.
1
Plug in only on a free, booked channel. No quick tests in the pits.
2
Ask before you walk on the track. Crashed? Leave it until everyone lands.
3
Ask before you touch anyone’s gear. Bring back what you borrow.
4
Help the new pilot, cheer every heat, help build and pack up.
5
Your crash, your call: say sorry, help fix, help search.
6
Leave the hall and the field better than you found them.

Check the drone, the place and the map.
1
Indoors: the EU drone rules don’t apply. The hall is where we learn.
2
A1 near people (C0, under 250 g). A3: 150 m from people, homes and parks.
3
Goggles on? Observer right next to you, every flight. FPV outdoors: fly it like A3.
4
Never above 120 m. Check utm.eans.ee before you plan and before you fly.
5
Camera or 250 g+: register. 250 g+ or FPV outdoors: A1/A3 test. Under 16: with a coach.
6
Ask the landowner, respect nature and privacy. In doubt? Don’t fly.

Own your channel. Look after each other.
1
Help each other: lend, share, ask, go over to the new pilot.
2
Fly on the Kollane plan. Know your channel before the battery goes in.
3
Never check by plugging in. Pit mode doesn’t protect the pits.
4
Changing channel: everyone lands, hold, change and check, “clear!”.
5
Somebody lost something? Go help. Take your garbage, and some extra.
6
Say it kindly, own your mistakes, never fly drunk or tipsy.
Free to use in your own trainings. Just tell people where you got it.

Heat the joint, not the solder.
Soldering is gluing metal with melted metal: the iron heats the parts, the parts melt the solder, and a good joint is a shiny little volcano.
1
Glasses on. Iron back in its stand every time you let go.
2
Tin both first, then join them in a second.
3
Hot and quick: 2–3 seconds per joint.
4
Shiny little volcano = good joint.
5
Beep test before the first battery.
